Take Action! Support H.R. 3471, Repeal the Real ID Act!
Real ID has reared its ugly head again, this time in the form of Sen. Akaka's PASS ID Act (S. 1261) in the Senate. Fortunately, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) has introduced a genuine Real ID repeal bill in the House: H.R. 3471, the REAL ID Repeal and Identification Security Enhancement Act of 2009. This legislation repeals title II of the REAL ID Act of 2005, and reinstates section 7212 of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which provides for a negotiated rulemaking process on the production of more secure driver's licenses.
Call your Representative today and tell them to support H.R.3471, a true repeal of Real ID!
